Seal Captured After Climbing Barqe At Dam 34
Clarence Petri and Frank Woods, lock and dam operators at Dam 34 Chile, captured a seal that boarded a barge. They lured it with a net wrapped it in tarpaulin and kept it in Petri’s basement until Cincinnati Zoo curators arrived for captivity. Clermont County Auditor Earl Metzger and George Snead first sighted the seal on July 4.

Grand Jury Indicts 14 Counts in Two Day Session

State Auditor Roger W. Tracy announced that 36 counties including Hamilton will get smaller monthly shares from the $2 million local government fund starting with July.
