Yields To Burns Funeral For Little Naomi Lewis
Four year old Naomi Lewis daughter of Thurman T. Lewis a Batavia Ford dealer died after burns suffered at home near an open fire. She passed away Saturday morning at Child's Hospital in Cincinnati. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at the M. E. church with burial at Bethel.

Batavian John Hillen, a former Batavian and father of Kenneth Hillen, died in a Detroit auto crash Saturday. His body arrived in Batavia Monday and was sent to Moore Funeral Home. He had worked in Ford shops, Detroit, and earlier was an electrical engineer with Batavia Light & Power Co. Owensville Fair Reduces Admission to Twenty Five Cents
The Owensville Fair secretary John B. Rapp says the admission is cut to 25 cents per person with free auto entry. The fair runs August 16 to 19 and organizers aim for one of Southern Ohio’s best exhibitions, weather permitting. Exhibitors’ space is largely allotted and attractions are being kept high quality, with stricter rules against shady amusements. Life-long Williamsburg resident A. T. Kain dies at 71
A. T. Kain longtime Williamsburg resident and former head of the town flour mills died at home last Friday after a prolonged illness in his 72nd year. The Masonic order attended the funeral in a body. Funeral service was held at Mabam Funeral Home Sunday afternoon with burial in Williamsburg. He leaves a widow two daughters and three sons. He was a son of Wesley Kain, a town pioneer.

4-H Club Outing To Coney Island Draws Hundreds
The Nimble-Thimble Club of Battavia and Carmel’s Flying Needle Club joined hundreds of 4-H members from Southern Ohio in a June 30 excursion to Coney Island.
