United Appeal Drives to Launch in Five-County Area
The United Appeal campaign for Community Chest and Red Cross services will begin September 9 in Hamilton and Clermont Counties and three Northern Kentucky counties with a goal of 5 480 066. The goal is a 290 327 increase over last year and covers 116 Red Feather agencies and four county Red Cross branches. Local leaders Davis Sawyer and Schwab announced plans at a June 25 meeting in the Red Cross Building. Allocations will be set after the drive with budget reviews by committees.

Indictments Returnled By Clermont Grand Jury
Clermont County Grand Jury indicted ten defendants on manslaughter and other charges after a two day session. Shirley Miller faces a second degree manslaughter count over a May 11 Newport crash that killed John Harvey Clark. The group also included indictments for indecent liberties non support assault and battery and resisting an officer. Several cases were ignored and one continued. The indicted will be arraigned before Judge Harry Britton this week. Sheriff Dericks praised jail operations.
