Alexander Johnson of Mt. Carmel traveled to Batavia with Deputy Teal to answer for petty larceny after stealing widely from his employer Dr. Robertson in Cincinnati. Johnson admitted guilt sealing his plan to spend the 4th of 1892 in freedom, aided by a pawn shop stash and a mislaid debt. He claims a collateral loan led to the theft. the case now rests with the grand jury. A July excursion rate via the Pennsylvania lines is announced in the notice.
