A Noble Deed on the Buffalo Steamboat
A Philadelphia gentleman traveling with wife and four year old daughter lost sight of his child as the Buffalo steamboat prepared to depart. The mother shrieked, the father cried for help, and a 12 year old boy leaped in with boots and fur cap to rescue the drowning child. He saved the girl from about thirty feet of waters and returned her unharmed, declining any reward.
