The Courier notes a Call Court for Probate business will be held in Batavia on Monday next the 25th inst. Persons having business with such court can avail themselves of this notice.
Both Houses met in joint ballot on the 15th inst and elected officers including Judge of the Supreme Court Eowanp Ayeay of Weyne county and Treasurer of State Axseet A. Briss of Lorein. Also elected President Judge of the 8th Judicial Circuit Anius Nyz and Director of the Ohio Penitentiary Josefa Raveway with associate judges for Union Darke Geauga Ashtabula and Columbiana counties.
The Cincinnati Times notes a Friday Senate test vote on the Lieutenant General measure with 28 yeas and 21 nays, Calhoun Butler and Yulee voting with the yeas, signaling likely fate. It also reports a House bill to borrow 23 million dollars for the war, and the death of U.S. Senator Pennybacker with funeral in the Senate Chamber.
