State canal push through Ohio legislature urged

Ohio National Guard to Join Regular Army Friday
The Ohio National Guard will become an adjunct of the United States regular army on Friday, January 21, under a 1903 act. If the Ohio Guard meets standards in organization armament and equipment by then it will be made part of the National Guard and subject to presidential call. Officials anticipate the change after recent gains in efficiency and expect official confirmation to interest Ohio guardsmen.
