Albert Seph was arrested in West Union charged with stealing tools from Cc W Sutterfield's harness shop. Before Squire Shumaker he said he and his wife had no food for days and used the tools to buy bread. The squire dismissed the case. Seph is out of work and in destitute circumstances.
Miss Flora Beacham and Joseph L. Larkin were appointed deputy recorders of Clermont county by Recorder Beach. Beacham serves as the daytime deputy and Larkin, as deputy clerk of the court, is deputy recorder for after hours filings. Confirmed by the Court. Recorder and deputy reside in Williamsburg.
Judge Hulick will today introduce a bill in Congress to purchase the ground at Point Pleasant in this county where General Grant was born. The appropriation would buy the site and maintain it as a public park, with the people urged to take it and make it their care. The measure is expected to pass.
