Probe deepens in Kelch murder in Miami Township
Police pursue several leads in the Kelch case after the 47 year old Sondra Kelch was found shot to death January 3 in a creek bed off Klondyke Road near Enterprise Drive. Autopsy cited gunshot wounds though no bullets were recovered. Her husband and her father are among survivors. services held January 7.

About 70 percent of the nation’s farms farm for non economic reasons. Only 337,000 of 2.3 million farms report enough net income to support a family per Ohio State University economists. The 75 percent of production comes from those selling $100,000 yearly, with 85 percent used in 1985 86. The remaining 70 percent are part time or transitioning.

Timber profits seen from well managed farm forests
Ohio State University farm economists say timber profits may exceed crop earnings in parts of the country. About 25 percent of U S forested land is on farms with 116 million farm forest acres nearly as large as publicly owned forests. Since 1960 land is shifted from forest to cropland for Conservation Reserve. more erodible cropland expected to join.

Man charged with murder set for hearing in Withamsville
A 64 year old Cincinnati man, Robert H. Feeney, pleaded not guilty to murder after a Jan. 3 shooting on a Greyhound bus near Ohio 125 and I 275. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 8 at 5 p.m. Massingill died at University Hospital four hours after the shooting.
