County Commissioners Hold Two Day Session on Budgets and Contracts
The county board met Monday and Tuesday with a full quorum. They approved numerous bills, set annual salaries for sheriff, prosecutor and other officers, awarded a coal contract to Oscar Glancy of Afton, and discussed a $73,000 road bond plan. They did not adopt the county fair grounds transfer and kept operating the fair. The jail sewer was inspected, Ora Herree was rehired as dog warden, and John Thomas remained janitor for public buildings.

Prohibition agents raid Miami resort seizing 90 gallons whiskey wine
State Prohibition agents with Sheriff Roberts and Deputy A. B. E. Meinken raided a Miami fashion resort operated by Js. Bright Saturday and seized about 90 gallons of whiskey and wine. Bright pleaded guilty before Judge Chas White and was fined $600 plus costs. Harold D. Balser noted as the agent.
