The Guerillas of Leon and a Spanish Vengeance
Eugene Daverny, a French officer, is chased by Guerillas in Leon during a Peninsula war lull. He survives a horse trap, is captured, and learns a tragic tale of a Spanish brother seeking revenge for a sister’s ruin. A cottage blaze reveals Anna’s corpse and Daverny perishes in the fire.
