Williamsburg Bowling Den Fined For Unlicensed Run
A Williamsburg man opened a modern bowling alley that required no work beyond collecting money. After brisk business for three days the village mayor reviewed the books and levied a license fee of 200 dollars for the first alley and 150 dollars for a second. The alley owner was fined 12 dollars and costs and cautioned to obtain a proper license.

Marriages in Batavia Join Goshen and New Richmond Couples
Otto Fry and Miss Kate Brothers of Goshen wed at Batavia parsonage on December 31 in a ceremony led by Rev. E Burdsall. The witnesses included Mrs Harry Brothers and Marie Brothers and Mrs Geo W Spencer of Chillicothe. The couple departed for a northern Ohio trip. On January 1 1909 Arthur J Gordon and Dora E Anderson of New Richmond were married at Batavia M E parsonage with Rev Burdsall officiating. Witnesses were Mrs Burdsall and Mrs Geo W Spencer. The newlyweds returned to New Richmond for a reception and marriage feast.
