A free family party featuring star performers from stage and radio will be held at Amelia High School on Wednesday January 11 under sponsorship of Wilson Implement Company Amelia. Chester Rotroff will serve as master of ceremonies and is well known in Clermont County for fair appearances. The program includes Red Dickerson Mary and the hi jinks on rollers Mert and Gert Arkansas twins and Lucky Joy on piano accordion. All county residents are invited.

Mr. and Mrs. Hayden Rice celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with an open house at their Water Street home in Batavia. Diane Susan Schwiermann, about 100 hours old and a temporary resident of Bethesda Hospital Cincinnati, won the First Baby of the Year Contest. Batavia Couple Announce Birth of Baby Boy
Mr and Mrs Henry Hicks of Batavia announce the birth of a baby son at Bethesda Hospital January 3. The boy weighed eight pounds and bears the name Henry Carlton. Mrs Hicks is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Carlton Hyde of Batavia and her husband is assistant manager of Alber's Super Market in Springfield Ohio. They have been residing with Mr and Mrs Hyde for several months.

Jessie Newberry wife of Percy Newberry died suddenly of a heart attack Tuesday evening at her Batavia home. In her 50s she leaves two daughters Mrs Stella May Louise and Miss Mary Newberry and one granddaughter. Funeral services will be held at 2 30 Friday at William S Moore Funeral Home with interment in Batavia cemetery.

Perintown Baby hospitalized after respiratory ailment
Barbara Ann Moss six month old daughter of Mr and Mrs Charles Moss of Perintown was rushed to Children's Hospital with a respiratory ailment. She nearly stopped breathing early Sunday morning. Her father and neighbor Harold Loving used artificial respiration then took her to Milford where Police Chief Earl N Konrad used the inhalator. She then reached the hospital and was reported responding to treatment.

Batavia residents vote next Tuesday on a proposed two mill tax levy to fund current services including street lighting and garbage collection.
