Death of Hiram M. Maguire Former Batavian
Hiram M. Maguire a former Batavia prescriptions clerk and longtime druggist died in Cincinnati last Thursday in his 55th year and was buried at Spring Grove. He worked at Emerson's drug store on Peat and Broadway and helped secure a large trade in Brown and Clermont counties. Maguire was a friend of A G Corre and a skilled chemist who visited Batavia often and was fondly remembered by Batavia’s social circle.

After being ejected from the house the creature frantically tried to enter and was found with a severed eye and bloodied head.
