Fortney Retires as Publisher. Schoonover Named Successor
Jerald B. Fortney retires after 30 years as publisher of The Clermont Courier and Eastern Hamilton County Messenger. Glen Schoonover becomes owner and publisher, purchasing the papers from Fortney and planning continued growth. Fortney will stay financially involved but not in active management. Schoonover, former Fortney GM, also publishes The Loveland Herald.

McBride Seeks Clermont County Commissioner Vacancy
Union Township's Robert A. McBride announces he will seek nomination to fill the unexpired term of late Clermont County Commissioner Stanley Cann. The Democratic Central Committee meets Jan. 5 at 7:30 p.m. in Batavia CG&E Auditorium to hear floor nominations for the vacancy. Cann died of a heart attack at 60. McBride cites obligation to supporters and county leadership.

West Clermont teachers reject pay offer in stalemate
The West Clermont Teachers Association voted 117 to 14 against the district board of education offer. About 277 teachers belong to WCTA. An executive session with WCTA attorney Roberts followed the rejection, with no action taken and a report expected from the impasse panel by January 5, 1976.
