Clermont deeds backlogged no more one day service restores pace
Kemp Recording and the Clermont County recorder office report a backlog cleared since January. About 30,000 documents arrived since then with deeds now processed and mailed the day after submission. The office stays open late to 7 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays for title research. no new documents accepted after 4:30 p.m. for security.

In Batavia and Felicity two prominent women, Pamela Simon owner of the Purple Onion and Pamela Nunichuck village clerk, faced common pleas court for greed. Simon drew 12 years for aggravated arson to defraud insurance, with restitution over 400000 and staged losses. Nunichuck pled guilty to three counts of theft in office, with later sentencing. earlier indictments covered 34 theft counts and tampering with evidence spanning years.
