Crane hits power lines causing Mt Carmel outage

A crane lost control on Summerside Road in Mt Carmel hitting two 7200 volt lines, cutting service to 300 to 400 homes for about 35 minutes. Operator Matthews escaped injury by jumping from the cab as sparks and fire erupted around the crane. No injuries reported. CG&E and fire department supervised shutdown and crane inspection.
