The Citizens Committee for Better Schools lists endorsements from Ames Lions Club Mt Carm el United Presbyterian Church Summerside Methodist Church West Clermont Junior Women's Club and the Williamsville Mt Carmel American Legion Post for the school operating levy. Other supporters include Amelia Women's Civic Club Mt Holly United Church of Christ and several local clubs. Dermont County Planning Commission rejects the preliminary plat for Cherry Grove Estates for the second time. The commission approves the Zoning and Land Committee recommendations that the developer follow all regulations and committee recommendations. Terra Development of Cincinnati presented variance reasons from the 500 foot building setback rule and objected to a playground area.

Clermont County tax delinquencies fell from 10 percent of the total bill last year to 6 percent this year. County Auditor J. F. Paschal said more than $109,000 has been paid on delinquencies since last year’s final collection. Foreclosures likely during the coming tax collection period ending March 31.

Life Scout Thomas Skip Jones Receives God and Country Award
Thomas Skip Jones of Troop 464 received the God and Country Award from Rev. Richard Brison during a Boy Scout Sunday service at Summerside Methodist Church on February 11. For the first time in Clermont County a cheerleaders contest will be held during the Clermont County Basketball Tournament at Northeastern High School. Cheerleaders from all participating schools will be judged on appearance poise dress and coordination the first night they appear. A corsage will be awarded and Varsity cheerleaders will receive a trophy.

Gerald Van Winkle, 25, of 225 Campbell Lane Bethel, charged with shooting with intent to kill in the wounding of his brother in law Joe Patterson of Maple Pike early Sunday. Bond set at 1500 property. preliminary hearing planned this afternoon. Patterson, who allegedly pursued Van Winkle with a shotgun after an argument, was treated and released from Our Lady of Mercy Hospital.
