Eljah Tatman Dies in Bethel at 87 After War Service
Elijah Tatman died Wednesday at his Bethel home at age 87. He served as a Civil War soldier and later farmed in Tatu township. He was brother to Colonel John Tatman of Saltair and brother-in-law of R. B. Rush, married to Rush’s sister after the war. He leaves a widow, three children, and two grandchildren. Funeral was held Friday at the Carietian church in Bethel with many friends in attendance. He was a respected longtime resident, husband, father, and neighbor.
