Three owners CG&E Dayton Power & Light and Columbus & Southern Ohio Electric must choose by year end whether to finish the William H Zimmer Nuclear Power Station as nuclear follow a fossil fuel conversion or walk away. Bechtel's 3.1 billion estimate buttoned up total cost and may push conversion costs higher. Officials met to share data and consider plans to complete construction and approve quality verification before fuel loading in early 1986.

Colby Granted Shock Probation In Clermont County Case

Colby received two years probation after pleading guilty to theft and forgery related to workmen's compensation fee bills. Judge William Stapleton ordered restitution and fines totaling about $2,200 plus costs. Colby previously served 30 days in Marysville reform facility and faced a six months to five years prison sentence before probation granted last Monday, Dec 19.

Jail contract near revision for Batavia county project

Commissioner Jerry R McBride says contract talks between architect Thomas F Cole and county for a new jail design could wrap by Thursday or be finished the following week. Counter proposals from special counsel Chris Erhardt leave only a few details, mainly compensation, to resolve. If approved, drawings and bid documents will follow in 100 days with bids and construction aimed for late spring before a July 1 1985 waiver expiration.
