At Tipton Station two youths and two young women were killed on railroad tracks. four Denver buildings burned. a child died in the flames.

Desperate Fight With Garfield the Buck At Bismarck Grove
A two year confinement buck named Garfield attacked keeper Frank McGrade at Bismarck Grove Lawrence Kansas. McGrade battled the animal for fifteen minutes by holding the buck’s ear and horns until companions drew the buck away. McGrade suffered severe injuries including broken bones and lacerations. he survived and is recovering. The buck Garfield was shot and killed by Buckie Garfield after the incident.
