Accident on Interurban Ends with Unconscious Conductor
Last week at Wilhamsville a trolley left the wire and a Conductor Simpkins replaced it. The car reached Cherry Grove before passengers boarded and the goahead bell failed to ring. Simpkins was later found unconscious on the track with a head contusion after the car had continued about two miles. He could not recall the events beyond pulling the trolley at Wilhamsville.

Lucien Murphy died in Cincinnati on December 13 1907 at age 52. Born in Batavia he worked in Cincinnati including years on its police force and once played amateur baseball. He was foster father to Mrs Bryan wife of a Yellow Springs farmer and is survived by a widow and Batavia relatives Mrs Sallie Flake Rome Murphy and Wright Murphy. Brief services and burial at Spring Grove followed in Cincinnati.
