Batavia attorney Hugh L. Nichols has been named U S jury commissioner for the 10 county Cincinnati district court replacing Max Hirsch who resigned last month. Nichols is a Batavia School Board member and partner in Nichols Speidel Nichols law firm. He is son of Clermont County Common Pleas Court Judge Harold D. Town Plans Survey of Bad Buildings in Batavia
Batavia officials will survey unsafe and unsightly structures in January to decide on repair or demolition. Three sites have already been cleaned up under a village ordinance. Saxbe Pushes Minimum Wage Fund For Ohio Lawmen

West Clermont school taps Everett Park as new leader
Everett E. Park, 41, assistant superintendent of Franklin City schools, is named head of West Clermont schools on a three year contract starting Jan 13 with a salary of 15 800 plus 500 increments in years two and three. Johnny Garner, a 13 year old Batavia 8th grader, will give an organ concert Friday December 23 from 7 00 to 730 at the Court House Corner. He serves as 8th grade vice president and Batavia MYF secretary and participates in 4 H, Pop Club and First Methodist Church choir. He studies with John Quincy Bass of the UC Conservatory of Music and previously learned piano with Mrs Wilma Marugg. He also plays accordion autoharp and was first trumpet in the Batavia Junior Band. The public is invited to attend the Batavia Churches program that evening.

In Bethel Tate and West Clermont districts voters rejected operating levies for new district operations. Bethel Tate failed 813 against to 507 for, needing 726 to pass.
