Jolly Pedagogues at Batavia City Teachers Meet

The Clermont County Teachers Association gathered in Batavia with a large turnout despite bad weather. Sessions featured G. W. Witham, Rev. Cheney, Prof. Johnson, Dr. Venable, and Miss Cowen among others, with talks on geography, language, and school sports. The group adjourned to Amelia for the February 25 meeting.

Farmers' Frolics and Two Clermont County Conventions

Special correspondence reports two farmer meetings in Clermont County last week. The Miami Township Farmers Club held a Hamilton church session with talks by Rev J W McGregor and L N Bonham on farm economy and management amid practical discussions. Williamsburg and Williamsburg area sessions featured soil talks by E C Reed and L N Bonham, Jersey cattle and Poland China debates, butter making, drainage, and fodder value, concluding with a large turnout and favorable reports.

Ohio and Northwestern rail buys old Constitution engine No 1

The Ohio and Northwestern railroad purchased the Ashland Coal and Iron line engine No 1, the first in Boyd county, noting its superior materials. The Loveland schoolhouse on the hilltop opens as a fine brick two story structure costing 12000 dollars. Nine years after two valuable watches were stolen from Mr. Philip Chatterton of Williamsburg they reappeared in a mysterious delivery. A note attached to a package begged forgiveness and warned not to question the giver.
