Old Clermonter Dies in Indiana
Solomon Leeds aged 93 or 94 died at his son Learner B. Leeds home in Indianapolis on November 21. He was the eldest of four Leeds brothers. his brother Learner B. Leeds once owned Clermont Sun and Georgetown News. Solomon lived near Batavia in 1838 and later settled Jennings county near Spencer before moving to Indianapolis. He spent his final days with his son and is remembered by Batavians.

Death of Ben Boude Recalls Batavia Civil War Era
Ben Boude died at the Soldiers Home in Dayton on the 22d ultime after months of illness. He served in a Kentucky cavalry regiment at the war’s outbreak and later worked with Clermont Law and the Batavia News office. Married to Mies Pretehet in Georgetown about 1968, he was a genial, industrious craftsman with many friends in Batavia and in the army.

Not the Man Who Shot Johnson Arrested for Larceny
A weary tramp entered a Sardinia house last Thursday asking for food and rest. He robbed the occupants of money and valuables, surrendered the property, and was jailed. A man matching a statewide description was captured in Sardinia but proved not to be the Johnson assailant. He is in Adams county jail awaiting grand jury action for larceny.
