Frosty Zimerman recalls a mistreated parrot and a bartender’s showy setup as a young woman sends a parrot to Ourdevil. The Gossip also recounts a dry hunting party led by George Griffin to Sardinia and a Batavia mince pie recipe with lavishly detailed ingredients and steps.
A school dispute led to a board hearing on Wednesday night but ended with no further action. The accused students denied guilt, while Mr. Dial and the bow students returned to their roles as board meetings continued and the East Fork remained calm.
Two evenings of operettas presented by the Quire of the Presbyterian church at the city mall and city hall drew fair crowds. Peter Struble about fifty was found dead in the mud on the Ohio shore above Ripley Kentucky. He appeared to have fallen and likely died from heart disease or by smothering and freezing in the mud. Struble resided at Logan's Gap three miles above Ripley.
