Batavia Ladies Form War Relief Group After Sewing Day
About 60 Batavia women met at the Methodist church to sew for European war sufferers. Nearly six dozen garments were completed. They voted to make the relief effort a permanent organization with officers led by Mrs. Frank Davis. A follow up sewing session is planned Wednesday afternoon.

Farmers Meet Plans Batavia Corn Show This Year

Accidental Shooting In Mt Washington Injures Kelch Youth
George Kelch, oldest son of George Kelch who moved from Cincinnati, was accidentally shot last Saturday by a friend in Mt Washington. He, thinking the revolver was unloaded, was hit in the leg above the knee. He was taken to hospital for treatment where amputation is not expected.

Thieves Break into Baxter Home Near Loveland
Thieves entered the rural residence of H L Baxter one mile from Loveland on Monday night while he rested from nursing a sick cow. They stole clothing and an old clock after surveying the house. Bloodhounds followed a trail toward Loveland but were unable to track the culprits. A negro suspect was arrested near Lebanon and another in Cincinnati who tried to pawn the clock. Baxter identified the stolen items, strengthening the case against the accused amid tensions over hoboes near railroad yards.
