Datavote Tests Begin in Clermont County Election

Datavote passed its first official test in Clermont County last month with ballots tabulated on a Cincinnati commercial computer. Machines are en route after mini computers meet test results and Vermont County will test them next. Watson forecasts further testing and a $88 000 purchase, noting staffing cuts save about $5 300 per election and that Datavote will pay for itself over time.
