Clermont County Creates Registration Board For Unemployed
Last week John E Collins of Milford and R D Gallagher of Batavia were appointed to run the Clermont County registration department with offices in Batavia Court House. Leo Pitzer, in charge of tie signing up unemployed men, named the two as supervisors to sign up all unemployed for federal state and county programs. Fred Croswell remains County Civil Works Director and will assign men to projects. 125 men are at work under the Civil Works program. payroll totals rise with 100 men on duty this week and earlier payrolls show about 225.60 for 95 men in one day. New projects include Batavia Back Run Lindale Laurel Road Moscow Pt Isabel Road Branch Hill Loveland Road Nine Mile Locust Corner Tobasco Road.

Akron trio involved in forced landing near Pt Pleasant
On a Thursday evening in Akron, C H Betz and three Akron passengers flew toward Florida. Exhausting fuel forced a landing in a corn field by Grant Memorial Park near Pt Pleasant. Mrs Betz broke her shoulder while the others suffered minor injuries. They were treated by Dr Mead and Dr Colburn, then continued to Florida by auto. The aircraft was moved to Lunken airport for repairs.
