Columbus Ohio December 1 the State Relief Commission announces a December budget of 10 083 844 to care for 238 764 resident families 60 703 single persons The total adds 1 283 344 over November and funds 25 849 more families The state does her part.

Augustus H. Clark 78 a longtime Batavia resident died last Wednesday night at his daughter Mrs Ray Fatout’s home in Indianapolis after a brief illness. Known as an extensive contractor and builder he had recently sold his farm and lived with daughters Mrs Fatout and Mrs E R Justice of Spartanburg S C. His wife had died several years earlier. Funeral from Moore Funeral Home Friday afternoon with burial in Union cemetery.
Former Clermont county recorder George W. Goodwin, 82, died at his Perrin home Sunday morning after a long life with no prior illness. He is survived by a wife and two daughters. Funeral services will be held at his home Wednesday at 10 30 AM with burial at Green Lawn.

The State Highway Patrol with the State Department of Education and the County Superintendent of Schools launches a second inspection of school bus equipment and drivers in Ohio. Buses in good condition will earn an approval sticker. Inspections occur December 11 and 12 at listed Clermont County towns and times.

Word reached Batavia on Saturday from Emerson Town of the death of Virginia Ranson sister of the late Joseph W. Ranson. Miss Ranson had lived with her sister Mrs Price McGill since her brother's death. Interment will be in Emerson. She will be remembered by many older citizens.
W. D. Johns aged 69 died at his Bantam home on Monday of last week. He was father to Wm Julius and Donnie Julius of Batavia and three daughters. Funeral at Old Bethel church Bantam Thursday afternoon with burial in Old Bethel cemetery.
Mt Carmel Grange and Summerside M E Church present a minstrel revue at Mt Carmel School House on Saturday December 8 at 8 p m. Admission adults 25 cents, children under 12 10 cents. Directed by Mrs A H Theis of Cincinnati with good singing music and jokes. Come and laugh.
