Vilardo Yule Fund enters sixth year drive expands countywide
The Vilardo Yule Fund begins its sixth year in Milford and Clermont County with a countywide appeal to exceed last year’s $6400 total for two charities the Clermont County Good Samaritan and Needy Kids Christmas Fund. A radiothon returns December 20 from 6 a.m. to midnight, with gifts to be distributed December 22.

Walker named public defender in Clermont County
William Walker 26 of Batavia was appointed public defender by Clermont County Commissioners. He is with the Batavia firm Walker and Bradford and succeeds Melvin Reifin who resigned after serving since the indigent defense program began two years ago. Walker had been Reifin’s assistant. Also named to four year terms on the Clermont County Board of Mental Retardation were Thomas Wildey Al Dean and Philip Gatch who had been filling in for Keevil Hall. The commissioners delayed Donald Collins reappointment pending an opinion on possible conflict of interest. Collins had been vice chairman of the board and was elected to the county education board on November 4.
