Clermont County Sees Weekend Pollution Spike, Monitor Reports

The National Weather Service data show Clermont County pollution at 140 on Friday and 145 on Saturday with Cincinnati counts at 218 and 204. A new ozone monitor at the Clermont County Board of Health Building near Batavia started in July, with a sulfur dioxide monitor planned at the same site.

Retardation board to probe criticism

The Clermont County Board of Mental Retardation will investigate charges by its personnel committee and a former employee against Mar Whittaker the director of Clerco Inc Gilbert Dale board administrator Allen Churchey a dismissed assistant to Whittaker. The committee cited Dale lack of supervision and autocratic rule. Churchey will meet in executive session on Sept 4 at 7 30 p m to specify his allegations.

Courthouse to adopt county wide CENTRYX telephone system

Clermont County commissioners approved a plan to overhaul county offices with a CENTRYX system. The study recommended unifying all agencies under a central hub within the 732 exchange, enabling direct dialing and intercoms while reducing operators, with implementation expected in one year.
