Candy Bickett a 24 year old participant in Mall's first annual bubble gum contest reached the finals with a 9 3 4 inch bubble. She has blown bubbles since youth and notes experience and self confidence aid her stage performance. The present world record holder is Susan Montgomery Williams who blew 19 1 4 inches in 1979. Candy expresses interest in attempting the record.

Guilty of passing bad checks leads to probation revocation
In Clermont County Common Pleas Court Judge John Watson revoked the probation of 31 year old Larry G Chaney after findings of non compliance. Chaney previously faced a two to five year sentence for passing bad checks and was ordered to serve three years on probation with a concurrent six to four year term from Hamilton County. A related case saw John O Collins have his probation revoked and the original six month jail term and $1000 fine reimposed.
