From the Petersburg Intelligencer July 18. The body of F Adolphus Muir has been found and identified. Captain William Dan d r idge Epes of Dinwiddie is charged with the murder after Muir owed him 3200 dollars on land bonds. A large search and handwriting tests led to Epes, who fled but left a trail including a gold watch. A 500 dollar reward is offered for his arrest, with state officials likely to offer more. The case is described as one of the most cold blooded murders.
An Independent Democrat of Stark County accuses Hard Money leaders of pushing for immediate and unconditional repeal of every Bank Charter in Ohio and an exclusive gold and silver currency. He names David Tod as in favor of repeal and warns that a Hard Money majority would erase all bank charters next winter.

Mr French the Clerk of the House directs removal of Eng lish from his advertisement seeking proposals to furnish knives for the next Congress. The papers had shown preference for a foreign article and their commentary likely influenced the slip.
