Clermont County Agricultural Society to hold annual fair

At a July 24 1849 Batavia meeting the Clermont County Agricultural Society voted to hold the annual fair on Ulrey's ground the last Saturday of September. A committee including B W Pesen Joseph Shaw and M D Salt was named to select a proper exhibition site and negotiate contracts. Premiums are listed for cattle horses poultry butter cheese honey flowers fruit field crops and other domestic products with detailed entry requirements and measurement rules.

Premiums Planned for Exhibition by Board

The Board will arrange and announce the premiums before the exhibition. They aim to apply all obtainable funds, already about one hundred dollars, and expect the total to double before the day. Interested persons may join by sending their names and a one dollar admission to the undersigned or secretary John Hancock at New Richmond.
