Carl J. Nause was indicted for first degree manslaughter and released on $2000 bond after facing Judge Harry Britton. The Clermont County grand jury returned 19 indictments in a four day session, while 18 of 97 cases were ignored. Indicted defendants include Eddie Moore, William Ayres, William Tuggle, Robert Moore, and others for assault, larceny, DUI, arson, breaking and entering, nonsupport and related charges.

Unique 100-Lap Auto Race Heads to Glen Este Bowl

An August 10 auto race at Glen Este Race Bowl Route 74 features 100 laps with the winner claiming all cars entered. Entries limited to 1940 or older cars, open to any driver. The event offers the entered automobiles as the prize, with a large turnout expected and picnic/fishing facilities nearby. Weekend program includes time trials at 7:30 p.m. and racing at 8:30. Two Grass Fires Answered Sunday by New Richmond Fire Dept

Two grass fires were extinguished Sunday afternoon by the New Richmond fire department led by Chief Freddie. Firefighters battled flames at two locations, containing the spread and preventing further damage. No injuries reported.

Saturday opens with a grand parade of preparum livestock Junior Fair and farm equipment at 11 a m with an officers election 12 30 style show then more racing and horse shows at 2 15 p m and 7 p m.
