Both routes are similar in distance with one featuring a hill and the other excavating. Fire destroys Hartwell barn near Amelia. livestock saved
A morning fire at G. W. Hartwell's barn a mile below Amelia destroyed a 100 by 80 foot structure housing 20 tons of fertilizer and farm implements. Two Ford coupes, a tractor and two trucks were reportedly undamaged. Loss estimated at 12000 dollars with limited insurance while the residence was saved. Batavia will upgrade its water works with a filtration and softening plant. A Columbus civil engineer was hired to draft plans for approval.
