A blaze early Wednesday destroyed all village records in the two story municipal building on Walnut Street. The mayor's office fire department jail and council room were lost with an estimated forty thousand dollars in damage. A defective furnace is blamed. Fire trucks aided firefighting and saved the nearby Methodist Church. Patrolman William Henson said the interior was ablaze when discovered at 4 45 am.
