Milacron abatement remains undefined by the Community Reinvestment Area No 1 board after Hauck resigns as policy board chairman. President Robert Croswell told reporters he wants to be concrete on the vote. J Kermit Smith serves as vice chairman. Milacron officials proposed three areas to add to the abatement district in Clermont County including housing. Croswell plans to review tax maps before deciding. Naples commissioners vote 2 to 1 to approve revised water system improvements including expansion of the Naples Treatment Plant, a district monitoring system, a new well field and additional wells. Commissioner Bissantz questions oversight and accountability, noting long delays and limited engineer review in selecting Reckers.
John Perin reports a conflict between Clermont Northeastern officials and the Clermont County Building Department over Owensville Primary renovation plans. The issue surfaced during the Northeastern Board of Education meeting at the Intermediate School cafeteria, with Superintendent Budd G. involved.
Ninety applicants for the Clermont College dean post at the University of Cincinnati branch are ranked by a seven member search committee. Cornett resigns. board approves several personnel recommendations as teachers and administrators are reassigned following his son’s involvement.
Clermont County Sewer District raises uniform rates to 1.75 per 1000 gallons for the first 8000 and 1.08 for each additional thousand, boosting the monthly minimum in the PUB district from 10 to 14 dollars. About two thirds of bills reflecting the rise have been mailed since March 1, with some pensioners asking about the $2 increase.
