New Richmond postmaster shifted after 62 years in service
Allene Gastrich, 62, former supervisor of mails, becomes postmaster at New Richmond succeeding Harry Toben who died last year. She began as sub clerk in 1973, later served as parcel keyer at Bulk Mail Center Cincinnati and advanced to supervisor of mails at BMC before the new appointment.

Four doctors win appeal over Clermont Mercy ER head
The 12th District Court of Appeals affirmed a four-doctor judgment against Clermont Mercy Hospital emergency room head Dr H Charles Miller and Clerco Medical Services. In 1981 a jury ordered $57,472 plus interest to be paid to four former ER colleagues for disputed pay and bonuses. The suit, filed April 20, 1979, claimed Miller withheld $175,000 from patients and allocated amounts by hours worked.
