Prominent Cincinnati Attorney John Johnston Dies After Brief Illness
John Johnston, once a leading Clermont bar figure from 1850 to 1860, died at his East Third street home in Cincinnati after a short typhoid pneumonia illness. Born in 1824 at Mt. Carmel he practiced with Penn & Johnston, later Gregg, served as Clermont prosecutor 1853 55 and was a State Senator 1841 42. He married Lamira Gregg in 1854. a son and daughter survived. Funeral at Second Presbyterian Church Cincinnati with Spring Grove burial.
