J. F. Paschal, county auditor, reminds individuals partnerships and corporations to file personal property tax returns by April 30 for intangible property like stocks bonds and notes. The $18 annual trailer tax is also due. penalties accrue at one dollar per day up to twenty five dollars.
The Federal Bureau of Public Roads will improve Neville Penn and Fruit Ridge Roads feeding Nike near Felicity after the Department of Defense earmarks funds. Work begins after funding is approved with survey and planning already authorized, per P F Rouster, assistant federal highway director.
Bettie Miller of Loveland and Charles Shipley of Owensville are cast in the Wilmington College Theatre production of Liliom. The play runs 8:15 p.m. April 23 24 and 25 at Boyd Auditorium on campus.
The Clermont County Heart Mart, a store raising funds for heart research and treatment for 22 local children, will grand open April 10 near Williamsville. It sells donated used items and clothing, with opening day registrations offering a chance to win brass lamps. kids get balloons and rides on Cedar Hills Dairy’s merry-go-round.
Clermont County Committee for Health and Welfare plans its first meeting at 8 15 p m on Friday April 10 at Batavia Presbyterian Church The unit of the Community Health and Welfare Council of the Community Chest of Cincinnati aims to identify county welfare needs and best ways to meet them Robert Crowe of Batavia chairs the panel with numerous local members including Fred Climer George Day and Wayne Oney among others
Paul S. Easton resigns as Miami Township Zoning Commission chair, citing time constraints from his wholesale nation's business. Trustees will consider replacing him while a movement seeks a woman appointee from the local Women Voters League. The commission has focused on residence and business zones, with limited attention to industrial areas, and the zoning proposal may be postponed to 1960.
The Clermont County Federation of Garden Clubs plans a county Arbor Day program with 17 clubs including Amelia Batavia Bethel Fair Meadows Felicity Goshen Hill Top Loveland Milford Mt. Carmel New Richmond Owensville Plant & Pick Plesant Hills Williamsburg Valley View Patio Gardens. Schools will receive federation funds to choose their own trees.
The Clermont Warren County Real Estate Board voted April 2 to keep commissions at five percent instead of raising to six percent. The meeting at The Homestead Inn included James Bischel assisting LeRoy Parsons on new by laws, with many members and guests listed.
Fred C. Kipp of Kipp's Rabbitry in Mt iComed Tobasco Rd. says Clermont County Youth Rabbit Club is Ohio's first youth club and the fourth in the U S to be certified by the American Rabbit Breeders Association. The show April 25 26 at Clermont County Fair Grounds features about 500 head of 10 breeds from multiple states with judging starting April 26 at 9 a m.
Officers of the newly formed Federation of Churches for Mt. Washington Newtown Forestville Cherry Grove in Hamilton and Clermont County will be installed at 6 30 p m Friday April 10 during a dinner meeting at Anderson Hills Community Methodist Church. Installed by Rev Richard Isler are Robert Miller president Raymond DeRose first vice president Mrs Hubert Walker second vice president Ralph Whitehead treasurer and Mrs G F Houze secretary. Churches from Mt Washington Forestville Williamsville Amelia Mt Holly Summerside and Mt Carmel have joined with others invited to join to address mutual problems in the fast growing area. Installation open to all participating church members and interested church officials.
Pierce Township trustees proclaim April 20 to 25 as Spring Clean-Up Week with participation from the Civic Club, Pierce Elementary, St. Bernadette, Pierce PTA and Boy Scouts. A film on fire prevention will be shown at schools and clubs, and a scrap paper drive plus spaghetti supper run April 25 from 4 to 9 p.m.
