31st Easter egg hunt planned in Batavia Saturday

The 31st annual Easter egg hunt will be held this Saturday April 10 at 2 p.m. on the American Legion grounds east of Batavia. Legion members are coloring 2000 hard boiled eggs for the event with Batavia merchants prizes for eggs with lucky numbers. Sponsored by the Batavia Jaycees Batavia Businessmen's Association and F W Weaver Legion Post 237 along with the Clermont Courier.

Amelia Easter Egg Hunt Planned Behind School

The Amelia Village recreation board schedules an Easter egg hunt at 10:30 a.m. behind Amelia Elementary School. Attendees should bring a basket and look for a 6 foot rabbit. If rain cancels, the event shifts to the following Saturday.

Fire contracts renewed for Union Township services in 1982

North Union and Williamsville Fire Departments renew contracts for Union Township service after a three month review extension. Administrator Julia Sharp says there was general agreement and notes changes cover ownership of fire property and potential township ownership of equipment and real estate if departments dissolve. The two mill fire levy approved on the Nova ballot funds the increase. The prosecutor’s office urged clarification after past incidents where emergency equipment was sold by life squad members.

Commissioners plan outside investigator for children’s services

Clermont County Commissioners last Thursday said they will hire an unbiased investigator from outside the county to probe Children’s Services after weeks of requests by the Concerned Citizens group. Betty Fithen of Milford added signatures to petitions urging the inquiry. The panel previously objected to the welfare advisory board handling the probe and the prosecutor’s office was asked for an opinion on releasing statistics on youths ages 14 to 18 in care, including pregnancies.

Stonelick bridge to raise load limit in bid approval

County roads get summer repairs as bids approved for a new steel deck on the Stonelick Williams Corner Road bridge near Balzhiser Road. The project raises weight capacity from nine to 18 tons and requires a two month closure. Fire equipment concerns prompted the work and bids totaled 34,041.76 to Greulich, Inc. and 17,492.99 to Frank Adams and Company.

Western fashion blooms at San Antonio Rose club

In Mt. Carmel the San Antonio Rose night club draws Clermont County and Greater Cincinnati residents to its Western themed venue.
