CNE schools face possible fall closure and levy dispute

County studies sludge disposal lease with Aber Road landfill

Commissioners review a proposed lease with Clermont Environmental Reclamation Inc for 100 acres at Aber Road landfill to dispose sludge. The deal starts at 36000 dollars per year with a renewal at 24000 dollars. EPA requires a site for federal grants. Residents opposed Ross Road site earlier.

Court rules against youth in Knothole suit

Jeffrey Buchanan, 8, of Union Township loses bid for a Common Pleas Court order to allow him to play with the Willowville D Knothole team. Judge Louis J. Schwartz dismisses restraining orders and damages claims while noting Buchanan did not play with a recognizable Willowville Knothole team in 1976. County official Duane McLaughlin says knothole franchises align with elementary boundaries and Buchanan would need Willliamstown Tabasco district registration for a release.
