Exonerated Ohio man awaits pardon after counterfeit case

William Hera, a Cincinnati photo engraver and son of the late Rev. E. R. Hera, was convicted in a counterfeit scheme involving William Brown and Ralph Wishorn. A sworn confession to Chaplain William Dudley states Hera was innocent, aiding in a pardon bid and return to Newport wife.

Easter Sunday at local churches features music and flowers

Easter services at the Presbyterian church impressed with fine organ music led by Mrs. Bell and a full choir, a powerful sermon by Rev. Bell, and touching Sunday school exercises. A large cross of white dressed girls formed with flowers. The Methodist church held evening ceremonies to a crowded audience with songs, declamations, and recitations. The day was a perfect spring scene and among the most delightful Easters in town.
