Tax sale invalid in Colfax County and a warning

A letter from Hon. Thus McBride to County Treasurer McBride of Raton NM questions the validity of tax sale certificates purchased by Mr. McGlashan of Trinidad. Because 1913 1914 delinquent tax ads were not published as required, the certificates are invalid and owners may redeem. The assistant district attorney warned against mandamus suits, urging protection of citizens from tax speculators amid political attacks by jimmycrats and urging votes for O L Phillips and the Republican ticket to block such practices.
