Pad Local 674 Strike Vote Planned at Norwood Meeting

Local 674 UAW CIO schedules a Sunday strike vote during a 2 p.m. meeting in St. Peter and Paul Church Recreation Hall Fenwick Avenue Norwood. The vote aligns with national UAW locals urging negotiations with Ford and General Motors. Friday session canceled.

Union Labor Week Opened In Cincinnati With Proclamation

CIO leaders gathered at Hotel Linton for Union Label Week to boost union made goods. Mayor Carl Rich proclaimed May 16 to 23 1955 as UNION LABOR WEEK and praised union labor’s contributions. Attendees included AFL representatives George Pecaro Dave Solomon Bob Fox and Al Blasch with Ed Hellkamp presiding.
