Eisenhower wary of politics yet intrigues of the presidency
President Eisenhower says he finds the presidency intriguing and fatiguing while admitting he has no great liking for politics. The piece contrasts Stevenson’s likening to politics with Ike’s reluctance and details Democratic hopes and Republican maneuvering ahead of the 1956 race.
