Elyria cop faces probation after DUI plea in Oberlin
Elyria officer Charles McArthur 27 pleaded no contest in Oberlin Municipal Court to a DUI from an Aug. 3 crash and a seat belt violation. A failure to control charge was dropped. He received 530 dollars in fines, three years probation, 90 days jail with 87 days suspended, three days to be served in a drunken driving class, and a six month license suspension.

Man allegedly threatens police again in Lorain County
Steve Hamilton Jr., 24, of Lorain, already facing several charges, allegedly threatened officers again after a court appearance. He had been arrested Sept. 21 for domestic violence and weapons offenses, and during arrest said he should have shot at police.
