Ohio bingo fees expected to net 5.2 million this year
The new gambling law, effective July 1, aims to regulate instant bingo and charity games, with fees up to 5000 dollars. Officials say 1600 applications were received for 2003 through September 19, and about 1200 licenses issued, far above 2001 levels. The measure seeks to curb scams while boosting state revenue and ensuring half profits go to federally recognized charities.
